Some white chocolate was sent down the drain while hot, and the water wasn't run enough. As a result, the chocolate floated to the top of the water in the sink's P-trap, cooled and left overnight, and solidified into a hockey puck shape, thus completely clogging the drain.

So here's a little summer photo recap. Highlights include, but are not limited to: Oregon trip, gardening, girls camp, and fishing. We had a great summer, but are really looking forward to the cooler winter.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNLMbkq49KbMIsT9hAVVwsx6N6IuJ0erAFq5Zdwd51JSxuzLPK1rYNNWN1WI4OEhC2RsU6f56PMD_Of5AVa_c_7j9KrJg5TfcrShd82OcRR84do_BZGSSt9oVXFpkKPJf1w_qCLFq9Pmf2/s1600/IMG_2679.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNLMbkq49KbMIsT9hAVVwsx6N6IuJ0erAFq5Zdwd51JSxuzLPK1rYNNWN1WI4OEhC2RsU6f56PMD_Of5AVa_c_7j9KrJg5TfcrShd82OcRR84do_BZGSSt9oVXFpkKPJf1w_qCLFq9Pmf2/s400/IMG_2679.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515717278022097986" border="0" /></a><br />Spencer is the greatest uncle in the world. He loves to play with the kids! Here he is playing with 3 of my sister's adorable kids. As you can see they are having a ball!! They live in Michigan now and we don't get to see them very often. Maybe someday we will live closer...<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsrrwV79H5y5_lDpgtvH1_kF3PGOzMs-pzFWtvRJiQ8D0i6Flr508tez4M7IL6W70lacbXovzwlUQtYjjSfwGL5d_PoOYEo8BT8GXhCmYfgU20qN-Y2sC621Q5Y_B94aAXjqGRVlHErWC6/s1600/IMG_2672.jpg"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsrrwV79H5y5_lDpgtvH1_kF3PGOzMs-pzFWtvRJiQ8D0i6Flr508tez4M7IL6W70lacbXovzwlUQtYjjSfwGL5d_PoOYEo8BT8GXhCmYfgU20qN-Y2sC621Q5Y_B94aAXjqGRVlHErWC6/s400/IMG_2672.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515716225152994882" border="0" /></a><br />Of course my fun every summer is my flowers. They didn't do so well this summer, but here is one of my sun flowers. Anyone can call themselves a<br />gardener in Oregon. So we took an afternoon by ourselves and visited. It really is a spectacular site. There is a picture of my sisters and I sitting on this same bench more then 10 yrs ago! So I thought it would be nice to get another picture on the same bench. (Also, taking pictures standing in the shade of the visitors center with the bright lake behind you is a little difficult. )<br /><br />It really was a great summer. I think for me it was nice because it was the first summer I didn't have classes. We loved spending time with family, taking trips up the mountain, girls camp, and always new projects. Time goes quickly, and we are approaching fall now. (thank goodness!!) We have many more things to do. Always a good time!!<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhhv5jV5KG6kFx9f6ZguBXnPlMRwd9hzMJHrg-Pf-49oz9S0MMzf9Lle0FV7Om19XgyuH3K9Qmlg3wdmx9TnRDxRyDnOErGKGvbA_CyI9YTr_oZIt7hzcfNfHffyVBdTfVCxTqVEduv7UQ/s1600/IMG_2773.jpg"></a><input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden"><div id="refHTML"></div>Spencer Broderickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478372810850401375noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601238583135723454.post-55282068322832631792010-05-22T21:37:00.006-07:002010-05-22T21:53:28.715-07:00Pizza anyone? So, Lindsey has an incredible talent at making pizza. She worked for Papa Murphy's on and off for 5 years and got to be very good at it. She has shown off her pizza skillz here at our home on numerous occasions, except not really yet for any visitors, except for John and Bre when they were living with us last summer and who gave us a better dough recipe.<br /><br />To give you an idea of how good she is, she can braid the crust to look like something out of a gourmet magazine. Here is the latest creation from this evening's meal (before viewing, please sit back from your computer a safe distance so as to not drool on your keyboard or monitor ;) ) :<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjapRPtLCbsosIx7LNWqFU2SB705aPxwdcIOq2-Wc-lTgJIokARKoOo3GhK5ydCGFkSV0QaqMipd2_1hCSGo7KlTS8O7kt8IwAmHUswga2EF7t6UTdOVNb8tWDp6ED0JeiuhBs2G0YVUiTC/s1600/IMG_2490.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjapRPtLCbsosIx7LNWqFU2SB705aPxwdcIOq2-Wc-lTgJIokARKoOo3GhK5ydCGFkSV0QaqMipd2_1hCSGo7KlTS8O7kt8IwAmHUswga2EF7t6UTdOVNb8tWDp6ED0JeiuhBs2G0YVUiTC/s400/IMG_2490.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5474321219814389234" border="0" /></a><a id="publishButton" class="cssButton" href="javascript:void(0)" target="" onclick="if (this.className.indexOf("ubtn-disabled") == -1) {var e = document['stuffform'].publish;(e.length) ? e[0].click() : e.click(); if (window.event) window.event.cancelBubble = true; return false;}"><div class="cssButtonOuter"><div class="cssButtonMiddle"><div class="cssButtonInner"><br /></div></div></div></a>Needless to say, I have always been impressed by her pizza-making ability. This year we had a "Cooper Street" party. (our street) Recently, some members of the ward bought a house down the street, and another neighbor was baptized last month. These new friends/neighbors and ourselves pulled our creative hats out of the closet and dusted them off to make lovely gingerbread houses. No, they are not made with real gingerbread, that is a LOT of work. They all turned out beautifully! Thanks Jessie, Annjanette and Brent!<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Spencer's Hogan/Wigwam<br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTuwXJJ3QEHxs0FUJ78NUjAWJjEzqXg2pj72JdezIQVe2GSiGmOLMg-YZvibx8qfdisbnq2IFNtGGwWDymo972_yKV4TqKVgQMCs-EIlGANW2Lq_tjY1Lj04vZmlYJHMS7LKzfvR0jHNmN/s1600-h/IMG_2473.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTuwXJJ3QEHxs0FUJ78NUjAWJjEzqXg2pj72JdezIQVe2GSiGmOLMg-YZvibx8qfdisbnq2IFNtGGwWDymo972_yKV4TqKVgQMCs-EIlGANW2Lq_tjY1Lj04vZmlYJHMS7LKzfvR0jHNmN/s320/IMG_2473.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417544800610595586" border="0" /></a>Lindsey's House<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8S9cq8k4nB5lsMTrzHauJhQady2Ox3TVebYpJisncNucS3MkqmZ3GKGcqD1aRr5kVBAc7oBDqQ6UNkfT9KsbhNNtH1zNFSr465D3fV_DWvexUpDDrxCKzZvorbbNRRIbhbFZO51pnOd_0/s1600-h/IMG_2471.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8S9cq8k4nB5lsMTrzHauJhQady2Ox3TVebYpJisncNucS3MkqmZ3GKGcqD1aRr5kVBAc7oBDqQ6UNkfT9KsbhNNtH1zNFSr465D3fV_DWvexUpDDrxCKzZvorbbNRRIbhbFZO51pnOd_0/s320/IMG_2471.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417544791963019938" border="0" /></a><br />Annjanette and Brent's Houses<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg13SBiMLeI01Ck4MZPVgUsLxGI5ShA5vgOdvrZvE9NiLPw2hm3WJAQ8btoGWuwsi4qGFFEKlOcV56dqPDiPypElCwjegoCk4NhF4048v7nwevhUdp-lKdNC6mZ8H8OTo9MB6WBgpPmVCCw/s1600-h/IMG_2474.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg13SBiMLeI01Ck4MZPVgUsLxGI5ShA5vgOdvrZvE9NiLPw2hm3WJAQ8btoGWuwsi4qGFFEKlOcV56dqPDiPypElCwjegoCk4NhF4048v7nwevhUdp-lKdNC6mZ8H8OTo9MB6WBgpPmVCCw/s320/IMG_2474.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417544784830375826" border="0" /></a><br />Jessie's House<br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNAS5XlHefsjJCDxx1ChR7iP6lSPHzDtnh0JXJNqSwgcVouQcMlhy9eOi1qGhuofwnatu9Plz7v8hNxcFEVr9m5i_xCNDNv_ktjCGgG_detsb2-b7kjK-8LFDRK_AAFnmn3nhEwV-1_zAt/s1600-h/IMG_2475.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNAS5XlHefsjJCDxx1ChR7iP6lSPHzDtnh0JXJNqSwgcVouQcMlhy9eOi1qGhuofwnatu9Plz7v8hNxcFEVr9m5i_xCNDNv_ktjCGgG_detsb2-b7kjK-8LFDRK_AAFnmn3nhEwV-1_zAt/s320/IMG_2475.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5417544775604432930" border="0" /></a>Spencer Broderickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478372810850401375noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601238583135723454.post-75862447301642780732009-04-19T21:02:00.012-07:002009-04-19T21:57:25.121-07:00Adventures in the washTucson is surrounded by a very unique and wonderful national park called Saguaro National Park, which is full of tall saguaro cactus, dense enough to look like a cactus army marching along the landscape of the southern arizona desert. We really like to get out to the trails to explore and be out amongst the cactus and the desert wildflowers.<br /><br />Yesterday we did a hike down to Tanque Verde wash, northeast of Tucson. For those of you who aren't familiar with southern Arizona or with washes, they are basically a desert term for a every-once-and-a-while flowing river bed. Everything around here is pretty much called a wash, because they <span style="font-style: italic;">only</span> flow when rain falls, either in the Tucson valley or in the mountains around. Otherwise, there is no such thing as a river around here in Tucson.<br /><br />On our hike, Lindsey took a lot of great pictures of the plant life and views of the Tanque Verde Wash area. I've included some of the best she took here. There was a little bit of water down in the wash from rain in the valley and snow in the mountains the weekend before. It provided an opportunity to try to get Sadie to 'explore' in the pools a little bit.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixEykDM4mshhjEX_PH4fzCMtJeDfBt0VS4YX9XVy83muj1JxSI-8Y42L5kBbleoZuvghcVVgiiSEt8DgOUSpWMhgNdEpWz1_gNCHTCfCP3pW6FKHaCOD_8Tk-SHqWdET9NvIn-dqci-Tii/s1600-h/IMG_1520.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; The business stuff was fairly ok, but visiting my cousin Dorus, her husband James and family was much funner. They have 5 girls and one boy, the youngest, just like Lindsey's family. I warned James that he'll need to watch out for his little guy so that he doesn't become too girlified with all those older sisters. I had lots of fun with the kids, especially Sophie (2 yrs old) and Jenny (5 yrs old). Here are some videos I recorded of them on my camera phone. They are really cute girls!<br /><br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dwOrjBRBkJnoADJ5qWaBRc9HHJ9Yc6w3S-Ti3XCa0XJYsKEbIjcxs7VuFuBXp0VhCE7ZfjxNfzgkllf47jj5Q' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dzBWyXB-S9oKdW5WO8N51G20PRC4ef2qr-85GYtDvpAjTmJP_IhmJZAoi14vB94pxaN2iMfxr5Bbxq7dJLIzw' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe>Spencer Broderickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478372810850401375noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601238583135723454.post-2806427831372157752009-02-23T20:31:00.009-07:002009-02-23T20:55:29.754-07:00It's Finished!!!Since Christmas break I have been working on a fairly challenging project...that of building a dog house! We needed something to chain Sadie to for whenever we left the house, and thus the dog house project was born.<br /><br />I found a really simple design online and set myself to work. The house has a very simple frame of 2x2's with a 4x4 base topped with a plywood floor. It was amazing how much work the whole thing required! I had all the tools I needed for the job, thanks to a nearby Harbor Freight tool store and my father-in-law, who donated the tools he bought to work on the house they bought rented out here in Tucson. There was a lot of sawdust in the garage by the time I was done with the woodworking. After hammering many nails and making lots of measurements, along with a simple paint job using painter's tape here and there, here is the finished product!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT2GxIGu29jNhjF0rkYE9iint7oO9AfcApXpnwbhir3lryPSq131LUPNSkhSO4yu8TRTJeTnF0nAmns8ZeliVeZy2zWJcGgAqFkF1NegOrQGIFK3V9XnbRzEy8S8FlPplKaxDS9mwCEM0c/s1600-h/IMG_1464.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT2GxIGu29jNhjF0rkYE9iint7oO9AfcApXpnwbhir3lryPSq131LUPNSkhSO4yu8TRTJeTnF0nAmns8ZeliVeZy2zWJcGgAqFkF1NegOrQGIFK3V9XnbRzEy8S8FlPplKaxDS9mwCEM0c/s320/IMG_1464.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306203915403018274" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgah1eCW-cZhMIgqKypVLsNxoivfOnwgqt1NW4EUy0Sg-rFcpk5OdvJuVLGyDipIRtuRNnfXfLEFzDxwltKD4ttmRnKUo4CztjBswww2LB_Fg453m2s_4yZ98kTtmEEdE2mtjotPyhRtqGY/s1600-h/IMG_1465.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgah1eCW-cZhMIgqKypVLsNxoivfOnwgqt1NW4EUy0Sg-rFcpk5OdvJuVLGyDipIRtuRNnfXfLEFzDxwltKD4ttmRnKUo4CztjBswww2LB_Fg453m2s_4yZ98kTtmEEdE2mtjotPyhRtqGY/s320/IMG_1465.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306204258678262786" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />We got the shingles from the Habitat for Humanity store here in town for less than half the price you would pay at Home Depot, so we were really pleased about that and how it added a great touch to the house. Lindsey got some wood chips to provide a cushy floor for Sadie to lie on, but as you can see it made a bit of a mess until I put the piece of 2x2 at the bottom of the door.<br /><br />Being the typical engineer that I am, I probably built the thing a lot more robust than it needed to be, but yet that just ensures it will last a long time through several dogs' lifetimes and I shouldn't have to make another one.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZIG7Qe3FaGfvbsrIcIRBoDqGjo4600h1xLCRO50da_71hvo2odyntybzrjG9OiAmoTolWc1eA0D8Z6auEknk1gwrjD0A4x1_Nnh5JMPJcZwEPL5VOXwdfiS-v7SnFt_3Mu6o_61Clxr6k/s1600-h/IMG_1468.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZIG7Qe3FaGfvbsrIcIRBoDqGjo4600h1xLCRO50da_71hvo2odyntybzrjG9OiAmoTolWc1eA0D8Z6auEknk1gwrjD0A4x1_Nnh5JMPJcZwEPL5VOXwdfiS-v7SnFt_3Mu6o_61Clxr6k/s320/IMG_1468.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306204264830829410" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfT7S0x4w2Af7a__ChyphenhyphenuuTEI04yYmhsKFiI8GAjhx8g6t7nAlO7B27Y_vnaupSudLHycSuRM2Mh9hya6QNHeZOEfV14G_rx5h-UBDdjf8rVWwP26MEZaW1NA214fD6to_Iyi4rAG1z5cNm/s1600-h/IMG_1467.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfT7S0x4w2Af7a__ChyphenhyphenuuTEI04yYmhsKFiI8GAjhx8g6t7nAlO7B27Y_vnaupSudLHycSuRM2Mh9hya6QNHeZOEfV14G_rx5h-UBDdjf8rVWwP26MEZaW1NA214fD6to_Iyi4rAG1z5cNm/s320/IMG_1467.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306204260720389922" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWgSdbzF-UvaI0zGTo8QkCWRbt0LAGwB1P7p64amZVcPkLLfMHAKyAeb_mvU5N9m1EfynlpIC05oSC1xTaAeykylu7aMd9kZ9e2O6UAdrF8OMxoI1Pkw3ZxsUS0hZiUanpzNA_UnKfHccn/s1600-h/IMG_1466.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWgSdbzF-UvaI0zGTo8QkCWRbt0LAGwB1P7p64amZVcPkLLfMHAKyAeb_mvU5N9m1EfynlpIC05oSC1xTaAeykylu7aMd9kZ9e2O6UAdrF8OMxoI1Pkw3ZxsUS0hZiUanpzNA_UnKfHccn/s320/IMG_1466.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5306204259324753874" border="0" /></a>Spencer Broderickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478372810850401375noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601238583135723454.post-57858198423008963732008-12-31T13:16:00.009-07:002008-12-31T13:53:08.823-07:00Snow in the Mountains!!Lindsey and I did something brave this week...we went camping in the cold (Tucson winter cold, i.e. 40 deg F). We both had a difficult time sleeping even though we were bundled up in sleeping bags and a blanket. But, besides that, we had a fun time. The night we were there, we went further up the mountain (Mt. Lemmon) to the snow and hiked the short distance to the church camp.<br /><br />There was snow all over the place, between 3 and 6 inches, maybe a foot in the snow drifts. The church camp is at about 7500 feet elevation and 45 minutes from our house. We <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTK3qLf98i8ws7Zjyhx6MCwWf9VgePIBxeAm8-JF7zgxG2fS1lqC-5cdRF16aue_lZP-01GMfrXr5q4bucFSkSwoc2aauv0VLIZPG2MjtQg51uwO9CHO9x9KiLS3N0QPhs4X7xAysXslHk/s1600-h/IMG_1428.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTK3qLf98i8ws7Zjyhx6MCwWf9VgePIBxeAm8-JF7zgxG2fS1lqC-5cdRF16aue_lZP-01GMfrXr5q4bucFSkSwoc2aauv0VLIZPG2MjtQg51uwO9CHO9x9KiLS3N0QPhs4X7xAysXslHk/s320/IMG_1428.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286053504565150210" border="0" /></a>timed our hike so that the sun would be going down. The sunset was gorgeous!! The bands of orange sunlight on the snow was wonderfully picturesque. Sadie had a lot of fun in the snow--running around all over the place. She was at first curious about<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhge8EGCGD1n5SPrmI9_tZ84GBJhhYpzzjxZkCXQl_B1FsLRgph8vFAteQikXByPuuHBZlqRyalJ-YjKXskcill6TXC9JPcz4cSUUSZ5Uxz8Jhgfq2cPWXW1hI8C0840xTavdrXxLgzO7c5/s1600-h/IMG_1425.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhge8EGCGD1n5SPrmI9_tZ84GBJhhYpzzjxZkCXQl_B1FsLRgph8vFAteQikXByPuuHBZlqRyalJ-YjKXskcill6TXC9JPcz4cSUUSZ5Uxz8Jhgfq2cPWXW1hI8C0840xTavdrXxLgzO7c5/s320/IMG_1425.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286053502393483922" border="0" /></a> the snow, <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhekpC12bV4XibrKPCopYmEJSTznNKG-NrTLPsSZsdzmspWKYno7gSbD36sdxymj8rttG5Bt_FziVTBWMZvjwhON-5VLqGTaG4g5CouS18URcYVRLfUhzAJFdKVbrNHG9eWD_QD37X56thG/s1600-h/IMG_1441.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhekpC12bV4XibrKPCopYmEJSTznNKG-NrTLPsSZsdzmspWKYno7gSbD36sdxymj8rttG5Bt_FziVTBWMZvjwhON-5VLqGTaG4g5CouS18URcYVRLfUhzAJFdKVbrNHG9eWD_QD37X56thG/s320/IMG_1441.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286059805033269938" border="0" /></a>but then it didn't seem to affect her as she roamed around in it as we hiked around. She is a good trail dog as she stays close to us as we hike and doesn't run off.<br /><br />It was great to see snow again! Lindsey and I were so happy to be in it since it had been a while since the last time. Tucson, though it gets snow in the mountains every winter, is always fascinated with it. On our drive up to the snow from the campground, there were a lot of cars and trucks coming down the mountain with snow purposefully piled up on top of the cars and in the truck beds. Some were so enthralled with the snow they had a snow man on their hood or on their roof. It's really funny to see the fascination of people with snow that don't hardly ever see it on their own property.<br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dwiTEfJs_YVnu9Wl3_poEKe9klSBcbqTgFor0reeKaqk2ntiBGFp5saYyskP18PFfAp7rYP7By2u_Q_-SPoow' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe>Spencer Broderickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478372810850401375noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601238583135723454.post-86794190876849597482008-12-25T11:54:00.003-07:002008-12-25T12:02:54.959-07:00A Very Merry Christmas!!What a wonderful Christmas at home in our cozy little cottage!! It was so much fun having our very own Christmas Eve and Christmas day to celebrate our Savior's birth.<br /><br />We even tried starting/continuing traditions from our respective families. Lindsey used a recipe she found in a cookbook of hers for angel thumbprint cookies. However, they ended up turning out to be angel elbow-print cookies, as shown in the photo!! We had a good laugh about it.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLZRjh_TsmnIEjydNemlrqcoNwdPv7MmBDyPa40e37WNi7Ui00sHlGMtDYxgkgGJvx_f_b4lGGrZEVELvb4AG4ET9PTWcO8pqWBKqCUeuZiSExhJqE1vaqH74WrrxnAblaz_WgWvEnrFlo/s1600-h/IMG_1413%5B1%5D.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLZRjh_TsmnIEjydNemlrqcoNwdPv7MmBDyPa40e37WNi7Ui00sHlGMtDYxgkgGJvx_f_b4lGGrZEVELvb4AG4ET9PTWcO8pqWBKqCUeuZiSExhJqE1vaqH74WrrxnAblaz_WgWvEnrFlo/s320/IMG_1413%5B1%5D.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5283804618992159570" border="0" /></a></div>Spencer Broderickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478372810850401375noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601238583135723454.post-43110029629644568992008-12-14T16:42:00.004-07:002008-12-14T17:00:09.115-07:00Officially Christmas!!!So, after much waiting and anticipation, we are now officially a part of the Christmas season--we have a Christmas tree!!!! Lindsey didn't want to get it until this weekend because of how dry things are around here in Tucson. I don't blame her. Getting the Christmas tree was kinda' funny, though. Lindsey, being from Oregon, is very picky about her Christmas trees. I pointed out the first 'good' one in my eyes, but she didn't like the few holes in the side, even though it looked perfectly fine. So, I quickly gave up and leisurely wandered about the lot while the expert did her work. A tree finally passed her inspection.<br /><br />We got the tree home, set it up (under the curious scrutiny of the dog), and then decked it out with lights and the few ornaments we have. We love it!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCjsoV2ip5wWh7E7K3wKTVPVXyx-bRsFqLJstHt_-RGeXzq03_bkWflLT8XyvxcemAzEzWwoDUAAPfxm2YM2ZmbW7oh-nmoRt91-3k6C_VWuJhe9Qtn6cgLG6DaTlCtZbZWhINTjIio19d/s1600-h/IMG_1394.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCjsoV2ip5wWh7E7K3wKTVPVXyx-bRsFqLJstHt_-RGeXzq03_bkWflLT8XyvxcemAzEzWwoDUAAPfxm2YM2ZmbW7oh-nmoRt91-3k6C_VWuJhe9Qtn6cgLG6DaTlCtZbZWhINTjIio19d/s320/IMG_1394.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279798643426693906" border="0" /></a>Spencer Broderickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478372810850401375noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601238583135723454.post-46000890434750781072008-11-26T14:37:00.002-07:002008-11-26T14:41:08.012-07:00Thanksgiving Weekend!!I am thrilled to have Thanksgiving weekend at home away from work and other things. Megan and Morgan, Lindsey's twin sisters, along with her cousin, Nick, came down all the way from Ephraim, UT. They arrived yesterday and we have been having lots of fun.<br /><br />So, here we now are starting our blog! It's fun to think I can have an online journal for everyone to follow what we are doing. I love seeing other's blogs from the family and seeing the fun photos and hearing about how all is going.<br /><br />I probably won't be doing much on this blog, maybe Lindsey will. But we keep so very busy between work, taking care of the house chores, the dog, and church callings. It is tithing settlement time, so that will keep me pretty busy next month.Spencer Broderickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478372810850401375noreply@blogger.com0
